In 1992 Mazon Hockey began their journey of producing high quality hockey equipment for every level of hockey player. The aim of introducing innovation and the latest technology to the field hockey market was a challenging road ahead. It became achievable due to our dedicated research and development team that included the best players from around the world. We have and still do remain a market leader for innovation in field hockey equipment.

We have been at the forefront of game changing features and constructions. A main highlight was the ground-breaking construction features of using ash and Kevlar that offered power with reliability and market leading shock absorption. This break through helped the first commercially released Black Magic hockey sticks in ?? and the emergence of Mazon as a leading performance composite stick manufacturer.

Due to Mazon constantly listening to players feedback and pushing the boundaries of design and technology we realized that head and handle shapes played a huge role in the performance of a stick. This realization lead to the design of the Hook and Ultra head shapes, the Hook optimized the surface area to trap and the Ultra head increased the ability to spin, drag and perform 3D skills.

The Mazon innovation and design department always have and always will pay attention to the finer details of hockey equipment. As even the smallest details can have a big impact on field hockey equipment. An example of this was our observations towards the power to weight ratio of a hockey stick. The design team set the goal of having a lightweight stick but with optimum power. Although tricky, the design team finally cracked the construction code to manufacture Mazon sticks that still to this day are aimed at being light in weight, solid in construction, exceptional in feel and generating unrivalled power.

Mazon Hockey has encountered plenty of success thanks to the key innovations discussed above but it is due to the constant hard work of our research, design and technology team. It is something that will always be fused into our company. Technologies

  • RVS +

    The Reduced Vibration System + (RVS+) technology ensures that composites are placed strategically in key vibration areas to absorb the vibration whilst hitting and trapping.

  • TS RATING

    Torsion Stability provides the unrivalled Mazon power. The stiffer the stick, the higher the rating & the harder the hit. Due to the core not flexing it results in the power maintaining through the stick to the ball.

  • THZ

    TomaHawk Zone provides vital reinforcement in the area that is used for tomahawking. The THZ will create powerful reverse shots whilst protecting against damage to the integral structure of the stick.

  • MAX IMPACT ZONE

    The shaft contains two cores of aramid to contain impact & provide stability. Essentially the core of the stick providing strength and structure to the stick.

  • TCZ

    Mazon created the Traction Control Zone (TCZ) to help players be in control of the hockey ball. The silica surface helps reduce spin of the ball whilst providing traction on the ball to improve skills and trapping.

  • CONSTRUCTION

    Mazon focuses on having a stick construction that is powerful and light but most importantly durable and strong. This is achieved from sourcing the finest materials to construct our hockey sticks.

  • BALANCE POINT

    Our sticks are designed to be light and powerful. Yet we realize that everyone is different, so we provided various balance points of sticks. Those with the weight closer to the head provide power whilst those balanced towards the handle provide more feel

  • BLADE PROFILE

    The blade profile varies depending on which Mazon model it is. A V5 aimed for power would have a thicker blade whilst a Slingshot designed for quick skills and flicking would be a thinner profile. Blade profile provides key elements to a stick that can significantly improve a players game.

  • DESIGN

    Mazon sticks and equipment are designed in Australia. We pride our brand on having cutting edge designs and vibrant colours. We make the equipment look and feel good, the rest is up to you!

  • GRIPS

    Hockey sticks need grips. We manufacture a variety of colourful grips suitable for all types of hockey player. They are designed to perform in the wettest of conditions and built to last.

Bows

Mid Bow:

19 mm: the ‘Standard Bow’ is a conventional bow that suit a wide range of players.

22 mm: the ‘Medium Bow’ is a perfect well balanced curve for players who are looking for extra control.

24 mm: is the largest of the Mid Bow and gives the player extreme control.

Low Bow:

24 mm: the ‘Late Bow’ suites a wide range of players who want to combine drag flick power, extreme control and feel in their play.

Extreme:

24 mm: the “X-Bow” at 20cm above the stick’s hook is ideal as a drag flick stick without losing control whenever you hit, dribble or stop the ball.
